What I'm referring to that now that most credit cards have a chip in them will it read a credit card with chip also

I don't think this one does but I don't really know for sure. From my understanding chips just came out within this last year and the square reader been out a couple years or so now. If you look it up it will probably tell you!

I have this and love it. Now some do read the chips as well. As far as this one, it doesn't Jen.
