Souvenir of Taddy Wa Wa Resort in Waupasa Wis
"note" I can't find the place using Google so it might be out of business or re-named. I've never heard of Waupasa Wis before today!

It has metal hinges and a hasp.
Measures approx. 2" tall x 6 1/2"(bottom) to 5 1/2"(top) long x 2 3/4" deep. Nice trapazoid shape.
In good condition with normal wear consistent with age and use.

Wow, thanks! I found what you found and I appreciate you looking it up! I know what you had to go thru to find it. I'm trying to find out when this resort was built so I can give people a better date range. This one looks to be a lot older than the ones I usually find. It is less streamlined, obviously handmade and the hinges are older. The lid is a solid piece. The newer ones in the 60's and 70's look to be more machine made and the tops are trimmed out and hollowed in the middle( usually). It probably doesn't matter that much but it bugs me when I can't find anything! It's personal..lol. Anyway, thanks again..you really helped me out.

I live about 15 miles from where this resort was in Waupaca..It was on the Chain Of Lakes out here & quite the happening place according to my senior neighbor who used to party there..You are so right about Cedar wood being harder to find..What a treasure & watching. This area is very scenic

I've been looking at the chain of Lakes area on my computer. Gorgeous, stunning, a place I'd want to visit. Except in the winter..lol. I looked up the definition of "Taddy". One if the definitions is elegant. I bet it was some place in it's day. It's odd that there isn't a single picture to look at on the the internet. Lots of other old resorts in that area, but not that one. Lots of interesting history too, and I don't usually have time to read much, but fascinating. You are lucky to live in such a beautiful area. I live in Oregon, lots of trees here, also. Got to have my trees! Lol

Ill take the cold anyday over these Humid heat in Florida right now!!!

You open your front door and its like walking into a Bakery mid day in the middle of summer with no windows or air ventilation, No joke. The air is so THICK you just walk outside and stand still for 2 to 5 minutes and you will be dripping wet in sweat. Worst summer I can remember ever...

You got that right! It's 74 degrees here and overcast, while my poor girlfriend in Nebraska is sweltering in record breaking heat! I feel awful for anyone who is dealing with the awful heat right now. I'd have to stay indoors.

You have to if you have any kind of breathing problem or other health issues and even the people that are use to working outdoors in the summer are falling out all over and the ER's are full of people for heat Exhaustion, Heat stroke and many just needed to get on a IV to get fluids back in them b/c they went to long in it. This has been a record breaking year in Florida and so many people from the North do not understand Humidity and how that affects the heat index and like I was saying in last message the thickness of the air its just something you have to experience once in your lifetime to truly understand it. unless you live somewhere like San DIego all our climents have their pros and cons like most people that have lived in the south all their life would look like a 5 year old taking the car for spin trying to drive in ICE or Snow, lol

Oncall your not kidding about this heat in Florida! Mid 90's daily PLUS not including heat index or humanity. It's awful, I open the door to outside to get pushed back inside with the breathtaking heat slapping you in the face and taking your breath away. I am a outdoorsy kind of gal but it's been too hot for me to even go outside. I have a huge BI pool that I can't go in because the water is not cooling and refreshing bit 87@ degrees. So I just stay in my central air daily.

does it still smell wonderful?
Jul 23rd, 2016 at 7:14:19 AM PDT by
Original
It does, but if your box ever loses it's "smell" you can take some 220 grid sandpaper and lightly sand it with the grain. Or, you can rub some cedar oil inside and put in some cedar disc's and leave it closed up for awhile, or do both!
