Description

The listing, Heirloom ✽ OLD BROOKS ✽ All-Purpose Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

Old Brooks is a heavy producer that should have been named Old Reliable. This was one of the best producing tomatoes during our record high heat and drought of 2012. They have a good acid content, perfect for canning. Bright-red, round fruit have a delicious, tangy flavor, great for adding extra zing to sauce. These would be perfect for market, as they were uniform and crack-resistant throughout the season.

Days: 78
Size: Indeterminate
Season: mid-season
Color: red
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: canning, sauce, salsa, slicing, juice, salads, fresh eating

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.
