Beautiful detailed piece. Almost 14" x 9. Great on the wall, office desk, coffee table or on a stand.

I'm estimating it is vintage at the least. This is handcrafted from a single slab of wood by a skilled artist (close ups of different sections coming up soon! The trouble with dating such pieces is that these traditional designs and skills are passed on from generation to generation so it is difficult to date. I acquired it recently in an estate sale with a couple other cloissone and wood pieces. The great part is that it is not stained or polished and is au naturel. There is a small white paint stain on the side that can be sanded and some miniscule spots on one of the scrolls but in excellent condition for its age. If it is not snatched up :), I'm thinking of staining it a dark mahogony or rosewood/teak stain which will give it a very rich, formal look. Please rescue it before I mess it up! You can dress it anyway you like to fit your decor.
