This is actually a german springerle mold.springerle is a fantastic anise based molded cookie that is made only for the christmas season.the molds themselves range from the very simple to wildly ornate .some older ones are worth hundreds of dollars.the cookies themselves take days to make and are sheer heaven.hope this helps.
