Description

The listing, PCGS Graded PR69 DCAM 1993-S Kennedy Silver Half Dollar has ended.

This auction is for a PCGS Graded at PR69 Deep Cameo 1993-S SILVER Kennedy Half Dollar.
This coin is a Specially Minted, 90% Silver Proof and PCGS Third Party Grading Service is in contention with another TPGS for the Number 1 Spot, but it is in the TOP 2 of Grading Services.
I have made sure that you can see the Registration Number on the slab in case you want to verify this on the PCGS Website.

I am no longer accepting GIN offers for my auctions, everyone now gets a shot at bidding.
The winner will receive this via FREE SHIPPING W/Tracking.
Remember that all Listia rules apply.
Just let it be known that every Monday and Thursday I actually go to the Post Office and pay the Postage and Tracking in person so that you will receive your item as soon as possible.
Now that the holidays are over, the Post Office is still taking extra days to get packages to their destinations, or having trouble getting them to the correct destinations. I have items that are taking up to 2 weeks for delivery, so keep this in mind when bidding.
Because of this I check all Tracking numbers daily and will keep you informed of anything that is out of the ordinary and when tracking does state delivery, will get in touch with you to verify that the tracking information is correct if you do not claim receipt by the end of the delivery day.
Thank you for your interest in my auctions and stopping by to view them.

I can not understand where they get 50th anniversary. The first Kennedy half was minted in 1964. 50 years would be 2014. It also looks signed my Kennedy which would have already have died.

This coin was graded and put into the special slab in 2014. the slab and its special Commemorative Label created by PCGS depicting Kennedy was used for many different year half dollar coins in 2014. there is a good chance that this coin was previously graded and in 2014 was sent back in to PCGS to have it removed from its original slab and put into the new 50th anniversary labelled slab.
--> It all has to do with the label, and not the year of the coin. <--
there are many collectors who have multiple different graded coins all the same but with different labels. label collectors are the reason for a variety of different slabs that you see every year with special pictures, signatures and many other themes.
I received an email today about the ability starting today to purchase Trump/Pence Labels and you can buy a three slab set with red, white and blue gaskets. all the same coin, same label but just the color of the foam gasket around the coin is different.

Thanks for your answer. Who signed it, it looks as if Kennedy had signed it.

it is a copy of his signature. it just would not be right if someone else were to sign his name, and as you stated, there is no way he could have signed it :)

I did go look up this coin with the PCGS registry and it does not state anything about it being removed from a previous slab to be placed into the anniversary slab.
it does show up though as a verified PCGS PR69DCAM and one of only 4,346 that are in the 50th anniversary labelled slab. it does give an estimationof its worth, but I will leave that off of here even though it is a little bit higher than I would have guessed.

Thanks for your reply. I knew it looked to be his but could not had just been signed. A copy explains it . Thanks

you are very welcome, and I appreciate the fact that you asked about it. it is always strange when a coin is placed under a label that really does not have everything to do with it and you were right to ask. the first time i saw things like that it took me a while to figure out what was going on as well.
I did go look at the coin on PCGS's website as I mentioned in another comment, but stated the wrong thing about its worth, so I am really glad that I did not mention its price suggested by PCGS.
they really are the only ones who will add a worth, "in their opinion" on their website. it is the only thing that i do not like about PCGS. it is not their pl;ace to do so, their place is only to give it a grade for you to look up the price with a publication that does give a worth to coins by their grade. at least I have found that they always "short" themselves on its worth and I guess that is to just be on the safe side.
Enough of that... good luck if you do decide to bid on it and again thank you for your question/comment
