1955 Topps Baseball Sandy Koufax Rookie Card # 123 in fair to good condition. This is an authentic original card (not a reprint). Most notably, this card is notched on the bottom right. Looks like it may have had moisture damage. On the positive side : It is well centered without creases. I estimate this card would grade a PSA 2 or 3. I have 46 years of collecting experience, and I will personally guarantee this card as genuine. A rare chance to own a " real deal " Koufax rookie card without laying down thousands of dollars.
Koufax played his entire major league career with the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers. He had a lifetime win loss record of 165-87 with a 2.76 earned run average and 2,396 strikeouts. He was a seven time All Star. Four time World Series champion. National League MVP in 1963. Three time Cy Young Award Winner. Two time World Series MVP. Three time Triple Crown. Three time MLB wins leader. Five time NL ERA leader. Four time MLB strikeout leader. Pitched four no hitters. Pitched a perfect game on September 9th, 1965. Los Angeles Dodgers # 32 retired. Major League Baseball All Century Team. Major League Baseball All time team. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972. At age 36, he was the youngest person ever elected to the Hall of Fame. Arthritis in his left elbow ended his career prematurely at age 30. Koufax was the first major league pitcher to throw four no hitters.
