As a young Hippie Chick, almost 50 yrs ago, I spent quite a bit of time in the Deserts of our lovely Southwest, in Arizona, Utah, Nevada & Colorado. Camping, Hiking, Meditating & doing what Young Hippie Chicks do.

Part of that was picking up pieces of Native American Indian Jewelry that grabbed my mind & Spirit at the time.

This pendant was one of those lovely pieces that I feel the need to share with others at this point in my life. My Journey has wandered & morphed & I no longer have the same attachment to it that I once did.

Sooooo LUCKY YOU !!!!! & Far Out & GROOVY Too!!!!

From the Greek root " Petro", or Stone, this is literally the fossilized remains of terrestrial vegetation that has been turned to Stone by the process of Permineralization!

That means Trees or plants that have hardened after millions of years, probably from the Triassic Period, ( 160,000,000 years ago ) & are now FABULOUS parts of the Earth for us to enjoy & marvel over. BINGO !!!! Mother Nature scores again!!!

I did spend some time in the Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona, area & quite possibly could have gotten it there???

Not sure if it's plated?? Zuni ? Hopi ? It's quality made & not flimsy.
