Description

The listing, OLD INDIAN POTTERY TURTLES MEAN FERTILITY has ended.

This from what I was told by an archeological person at the INDIAN Cahokia mounds in the state of Illinoi he did not no much info about this FERTILITY cup other then he said to go south east . HE DID say it is a FERTILITY cup to be used in a ceremony to help a woman to become pregnant that is what a turtle on the cup means..FERTILITY.. there are no markings on this cup that I can find any where..it is very old tho the archeological person told me and told me what the TURTLES MEAN to..as always I offer free shipping to good luck bidding to let me no if you have questions and I'll try to answer them if I can

I'm a construction worker and I was in a very old house in down town ST Louis MO and I had to tear out a walk and found it inside the wall..mind you this was about 24 years ago and there was some turquoise hand carved little animals called fetishes there to but I sold them on here this is my last piece I even sold a black granite stone ax that was dated around 300 B C

Beautiful piece Mark!! The most prominent tribes I can think of in the SE are the Choctow, Seminole & Cherokee...Did he say if their was possibly of Effigy/Mound Builders by any chance? I am in north Wisconsin & find arrow heads & other bits of baskets in the river I live on..Regardless it is a beauty :))

thanks!! Your fan & watching/hopping to bid :)

No he didn't say anything about that but I have seen shows on mounds building in the South of America it's funny you said about rivers I sold a black granite ax head I found in a creek in Desoto no when I was just 16 yrs old I'm 53 now so that was a long time ago and it was dated to be 300 bc and it is not a common stone here in the state of no so I was told it was probably traded to a tribe from here it was cool finding it tho ..Thanks
