Mr. October as he was named by Howard Cossell, is a living legend. Reggie amassed 2,584 hits, 563 home runs and 1,782 runs batted in during his illustrious career. He was a fourteen time All Star. Five time World Series Champion. American League MVP in 1973. Two time World Series MVP. Two time Silver Slugger Award Winner. Four time American League Home Run Leader. American League RBI leader in 1973. Oakland A's #9 retired. New York Yankees #44 retired. Inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993.

Reggie and his two Jewish teammates, Mike Epstein and Ken Holtzman all wore black armbands to commemorate the 11 Israeli athletes that were killed by Black September during the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Reggie was the controlling owner of Derweinerschnitzel fast food hot dog restaurants in California. I don't think he is involved with them anymore. He also had a candy bar named after him. The Reggie Bar.
