Shipping charge of $3.50 (to US addresses via Paypal only) includes tracking; shipped securely in a bubble mailer to protect them from damage in transit. I have found that sometimes postal processing methods grind even tiny seeds into fragments when sent letter rate, (so it's better safe than sorry).
........................................................................................

The lucky winner of this auction will receive 6 Pineapple seeds.

The seeds can take as long as 6 months to germinate but some people report that they see sprouting after about a month.

The best methods seem to be in a small amount of water or on a paper towel in a plastic bag.

For best results make sure plants have about 4 leaves before trying to put in soil.

When ready to transfer seeds to pot:

Fill 3 inch pots with a good quality compost such as John Innes 'Seed and Cutting'. Carefully remove the seedlings from the bag and planting one in each pot place them on top of the compost.

Gently cover the seed with some more compost but in such away that the green shoots are left exposed above it.

Water, then place the pots in a propagator or seal them insider a larger clear polythene bag to maintain humidity. Return the pots to their warm bright position.

Water the pots once a week so that the compost is moist but not waterlogged. After another 3 weeks or so they should be ready for potting on into 6 inch pots.

Do you know what type of pineapple it is?

I don't think it had anything other than a brand name on it; not the name of the actual variety. Thanks for bidding. :-)

That sounds interesting! I haven't heard of those two varieties before! Is the red a true red color or is it pinkish like the red lemons?

It's yellow inside with red leaves the white one is actually white inside tho. There are over two million varieties.

For the $3.50 shipping fee is that for the pineapple top?
I can't see whre that fee would apply to sending 6 tiny seeds.

I have had envelopes either rejected because the bubble wrap used to protect seeds was too thick to qualify at letter rate or alternately if I did not use the bubble-wrap so the envelope would be thin enough to go letter rate they have on occasion been ground into pieces in mail processing (even when placed inside a card in a baggie). Either way it's not worth the free shipping if you don't get your seeds intact, so I would rather send them in a padded mailer (which costs me more money to package) and get reimbursed for my shipping and supplies so that I can continue to mail these seeds out, get them to you, and get them there safely than to gamble on sending them letter rate. It could be worse. Check out the seed sellers here from China with rates of $6.50 for regular first class mail.

Also, I cannot put tracking on a letter. I can on a padded mailer.

Last year I ate alot of shipping even on stamps and I just can't continue to do that on a fixed income.
