The listing, Estate Find Egyptian Culture 2 Metal Trays Antiques/tourist~Handmade has ended.

Here is 2 trays the long one measures 7 ½”x 12 ½” the round one measures 7 ½” in diameter. Back they both say Ahmed Abd El-Kerim Sons Co. and antiques and touris things. Egypt Port Said as well as both pieces say handmade. The long plate looks like Horus and the circular plate looks like a side view of a pharaoh. Both have back hangers, could and great detail to the edges. Both need to be cleaned and I do not know the silver color metal so I will not attempt it, there is also a copper color, brass color and black. Great unique and good for the culture collector. I will also be listing some Egyptian plates that came in the same box. 21 day auction 1 credit start free shipping. Some scuffs marks ( see pics) needs cleaning (dont know type of metal to know what to clean it with) over all good condition.

Sorry I do not know how old they are. It says antique on the sticker, and there is a a few warn places, I took them to an antique shop here and they said they have not seen them and that I would need to find a book that specializes in pieces made in Egypt, which I so not have but looked up some sites as for some help with none found.

Beautiful auction! I have been to Egypt four times through out the years! These are very good quality plates you have and are most likely silver and copper. The older ones were made of good metals. I went last year and you cannot find the same quality as these. Whoever wins this auction is very fortunate and are getting a great deal! Enjoy!

I wondered if it where silver because of the tarnish spot on the front of the long one and how the backs loo. I know they also dont marked their silver like we do. I have a friend that lived out there for 8 years teaching English (she actually likes it better there then here) and she said most silver there is not marked and the craftsmanship on their items they take seriously very detailed and rich in design. On the left side front of the long one there is a spot, and silver will do that with age. But because its not marked and because I do not know for sure...I did not put silver. And because it shows more than one metal, I did not know if it was plated so I was not going to ruin it with an acid test. So if it is silver the person is getting a great deal, because of the weight. I just love culture and history though and thought this is just a great piece of it. Thank you so much for commenting.

cseib -I agree with your friend..i like it better there too! If you ever get a chance go visit there! It is awesome! Yes it is rare to find silver stamped there. When I went the first time we went to a silver market. There were all kinds of different beautiful silver items! The craftsmanship on their items is outstanding! Please everyone who bids on this item know that you are getting a valuable piece with a very high value! This is very expensive! A true treasure!

Thank you, I actually was going to go there but that is when they were having the Egyptian revolution. I had just got my pass port to go and was going with my friend that lived there. She ended up delaying her trip and by the time it calmed down school done started back up for me plus internship. So I did not get to go. Wish I did, would love to see the pyramids :) Thank you so much for commenting. And they do have well made stuff, she brought so much back with her and I was in awe of how detailed her stuff was :)
