Wade Walker is a nice, if rather bland, fellow who makes a living writing and singing songs for children. He is madly in love with his girlfriend Grace, but he's disappointed that she hasn't yet introduced him to her family. When she heads off for her family reunion without him, Wade decides that he is going to crash the party and get to know the people who he hopes will soon be his family too. When Wade arrives, he makes every effort to be gracious and kind to all of Grace's family members, especially her overbearing father. However, her dad wants nothing to do with him, and as the reunion wears on, he begins to wonder if he can marry into such a mean-spirited family.
