The listing, Canon Powershot A1000 IS 10 MP Digital Camera has ended.

Please read the description thoroughly and study all the pictures. If there are any flaws or damage to the item, it will be seen in the pictures and explained fully. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message.

THERE IS A CRACK IN THE PLASTIC WINDOW IN FRONT OF THE LCD SCREEN. It can be seen in the pictures, but does not affect the screen which is behind the plastic window and is undamaged. This Canon 10 MP digital Camera has 4 X zoom and takes photos and video. Camera works great. Full menu allows for many adjustments to accommodate low light, sports action, bright light and other scenes.

WHY DO I HAVE A MINIMUM BID AND CHARGE FOR SHIPPING?

Because it enables new Listia members to bid and win auctions. New members often do not have many credits. Items with free shipping sell for hundred’s of thousands of credits. The exchange rate is 27,500 credits per dollar. It’s not uncommon to see auction items with free shipping sell for $20 – $50 worth of credit. New members would have to buy the extra credits and it is easier to send the money to me via Paypal and I will spend it on shipping.

PAYING FOR SHIPPING:

Auction winners can pay their shipping charge by going to paypal.com and referencing my e mail address (lwghommel@yahoo.com). Then message me and let me know the mailing address to use when I ship your item. Paypal will send me an e mail letting me know you have paid.

If you don't have paypal, it is easy to set up. All you need is a bank account. Paypal is the best choice. Sending checks or cash is not wise and can lead to hard feelings if it is not received on the other end.

As soon as I receive your shipping payment and points, I carefully wrap your item and ship it. Then I will upload the tracking number to you.

I only asked because sometimes there is something people want and need the credits.. I totally understand. I do not think your shipping is bad at all. And you have alot of cameras listed. It would be expensive if every listing you had was free,

It was Marie who thought maybe I was making money from shipping. I wish that were possible! I even skimp on the shipping by not buying the insurance. It is only $2 to get $50 worth, but that ups the price of the shipping.

I understand. I have a lot of credits, most of the stuff that interests me is low credits and pay for shipping. I see some items I like for free shipping, but then the price in credits soars during the bidding. I seem to have good luck with new members. they don't have many credits and would rather pay for shipping than buy credits.

Camera is too old to pay that much for shipping. The seller can EASILY chnage and edit the shippping to Free to attract more bids.. he's basically "selling" it for the shipping cost.

I wish the post office charged less for shipping based on the age of the item you are shipping - but it is by weight and they don't accept Listia credits. Shipping is different from postage. Shipping includes postage AND padded envelopes/shipping boxes, bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts, and packing tape. then there is time spent packing it, addressing it, time and gas spent going to the post office, waiting in line, driving back home. At $5.80, I am actually losing money on the shipping and not making anything towards the camera, since the weight alone (camera and box and packing supplies means I am paying $4.50 - $5 for postage alone. All the other expenses and time I mentioned I make maybe 80 cents to $1.30. Then I go to the store and buy more packing supplies, and that is gone. I make no money for my time spent packing and shipping. I might attract more bids with free shipping, but then the price would be higher in credits and new members could not afford to win the items (unless they bought credits) - so why buy credits, when you can buy shipping through me?

I have so many credits myself, but every time I look at stuff I want, They are charging for shipping too.I think Listia is turning into a paid shipping kind of site. I rarely see free shipping items anymore, though Listia offers bonus points for offering items with free shipping in particular categories..Listia sells shipping services, but not for points, only for cask
