Description

The listing, Antique brass padlock Hibbard "knuckle duster" style, non-working, no key, weighs 5 ounces has ended.

This lock was pried off from where it had been hanging a long time ago. So if you pull up hard enough now on the shackle it will damage the brass case. Therefore do not do it. Possibly if you can get a flat key that fits it it might still work but obviously brass isn't the best thing you can make a padlock case out of so this is being sold "as is". Besides a good hard yank will start to make the case fall apart. I have big hands and what's interesting about this is if I put my middle finger through the shackle and close my fist around the round brass part it becomes like a one knuckle "knuckle duster". Yet it hasn't been modified, that's just the way it is. The shackle says made in USA on it and was previously corroded and is rusty so it's hard to read. Brass shows marks from having been pried. Total weight is five ounces. For collectible purposes only not for use. Hibbard Spencer Bartlett and Co. were around a long long time ago.
