Let's make this FUN!
I hope to get LOTS of comments!

I joined and stuck with Listia because it was FUN. I had been an ebay seller, and after ebay shut down the system that allowed you to contact and communicate with other members, I lost interest.

I knew Listia wasn't going to be a big money-maker like ebay, but a little voice in my head kept me from giving it up.

It's my NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION to make LIstia FUN again!

☘️ ~Please Comment!~ ☘️

✺ When and why did ~YOU~ start on LIstia?
✺ What is your FAVORITE thing about Listia?

I also encourage you to have even MORE fun browsing all of the eclectic listings on LIstia ... and please start with MINE!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. Fantastic Auction. Almost 4 years. I started after we lost out home due to medical conditions. Listia has helped in many ways. I remember starting out with small items. After awhile I went on slowly to list larger items. My Favorite Part of Listia is all the Real Friends / Godly Family We Have Made. Making others happy ~ Paying it forward.
I love the Charities and Pray they bring them back.
You are a Blessing. You all are.

☺ Now Time For Me To Get In on this Spectacular Auction ☺

P.S. Your auctions are always magnificent..❤❤

Thanks so much jenni! I’m actually kind of burned out on Listia. The horrid inflation has been very discouraging.

I’m hoping the conversion of credits to the new INK currency gets Listia back on track and makes it a better and more fair marketplace AND reduces the constant influx of scams.

I believe that when credits covert to ink members will be required to at LEAST prove they are an adult. So that should help. Maybe other identity verification will be required also. I hope so.

And I’ve been told Listia will stop feeding the system with free credits (ie INK) so that should help inflation.

We also should be able to see the $$$ value of INK. Like other crypto currency it will fluctuate but I’m hoping it will be relatively stable at first and go up in value in the long run.

So that means you can earn INK on Listia but also cash it out or use it to buy on other sites. Being able to use it to pay for shipping will be a big benefit for Listia sellers. Fingers crossed!

This isn’t true apparently. Last I heard anyway Listia intends to let people continue to trade here with no identity verification. Maybe that will change.

Yes. It’s easy to get frustrated with all of the challenged people here. I like being able to help people learn how to buy and sell more successfully but it can drive me nuts.

I’m adopting a new policy. No more positive feedback for buyers who never respond. I did it today. Gave neutral feedback to a buyer who never clicked “got it” or left feedback even after I sent a reminder. Neutral is what they get from now on.

It is so rude and thoughtless to do that. Giving neutral feedback might wake them up. Of course they will probably retaliate but I don’t care.

When credits convert to INK, Feb. 28 as far as I know, Listia members also will receive an INK "wallet" and an app to track and trade INK. One of the BIG ideas attached to this is that your feedback (i.e. reputation) will follow you, regardless of where you use your INK and the app.

The idea is to able to use INK to buy/sell not only on Listia, but also other web sites and your feedback (i.e. reputation) will FOLLOW you. So, buyers on other web sites can see that you are (or are not) a reliable person to deal with, even if you have never sold anything on THAT web site.

SO, that's kind of my thinking about leaving neutral feedback for people who never respond after you sell them an item. On Listia, eventually Listia WILL give your credits, but of course you get them much faster if the buyer simply follows up and reports that they received your item. But someone with less than stellar feedback as a BUYER will give sellers on Listia and elsewhere a heads up that they should proceed with caution.

You are MORE THAN WELCOME to copy/paste my comments on other listings if you'd like. I'd really like to generate some discussion about the INK conversion, because most Listians are clueless about it. I think it will help if people aren't caught off-guard on Feb. 28.

I know, isn't that GREAT news! I'm excited for her too!
I LOVE hearing good news on Listia. That is what makes Listia SO special.

Thanks again for your support. I'm SO glad I could help you understand the conversion of credits to INK. I think it will be a good thing but I know it is TERRIBLY confusing to most people.

IF Listia is FAIR to us, and converts our credits at a FAIR PRICE *before* they launch INK on the crypto-currency exchanges, Listia members will benefit greatly. If Listia launches INK on the exchanges FIRST, Listia members will be forced to pay a LOT more credits for INK.

'm on it like a tick on a dog ... rust me, I'll let you know.

I am in touch with Listia's execs in an effort to explain why this is so important for the average Listian. YOU can also talk to them on a messaging app called Telegram. Once you sign up for Telegram, simply search for a chat called "Ink Protocol (XNK). It is an open chat anyone can join.

My advice to anyone who reads this. Just ride it out. Try not to worry. Listia will essentially stay the SAME as it is now, and using INK as our currency could make Listia a MUCH better trading site!

Yeah, I got the idea from BeckyBrowneyes (I think that is the correct name) ... and it's been fun!

re: INK ... I'm asking LIstia why they won't covert "purchased credits" and what the criteria is for that. I mean, how long ago? It makes no sense because if you purchase the credits, and then SPEND them, the seller gets those purchased credits. They are then "earned" credits and can be converted to INK. I'm trying to make them see that ... it will just add to the confusion, IMO.

Do you agree?

That's a great story! I've also won some GREAT stuff for gifts on Listia!

My strategy is to bid on a listing while the bidding is low, so it's on my "bid on" list. That way I can watch it more easily. Then as the end of the auction gets closer I can decide whether or not to try to win it.

I do a lot of research on Listia using "watch bids" just to see what happens!

That’s what I call precise! So you’ve got a couple of months on me. Do you know when Listia started offhand?

Funny story - I first heard about Listia when I was living in Iowa. I went to an auction there every week and one of the auctioneers told me about it. He thought it was an Iowa thing because of the “IA” at the end of the Listia name.

People in Iowa are ALL about Iowa. It’s kind of amusing.

I sold on ebay for five years. Then we moved, but I was getting off ebay anyway because they shut down the contact system about that time. I mostly sold antiques and collectibles, and the way I sold them was to contact people who had bid on similar items (that had ended) and invited them to check out my listing.

So after we moved (from the DC metro to Iowa) I needed a new hobby and I found Listia. It's always been a lot of fun for me, mostly because of all of the personal contact. Now I am retired, my kids are gone, and I still enjoy Listia for the same reason but for the past two years I've been taking a BATH on my listings.

So, for me, Listia is addictive but very frustrating. Things will change after the conversion of credits to INK, so that's got me interested for the moment!

That is wonderful! You ought to keep an eye out for wedding dresses on Listia. They pop up every so often and you could get a SMOKIN' deal, even if you have to pay for shipping.

BUT if you bid on something requiring paid shipping, be SURE it is a reliable Listia seller. Otherwise you could send your money for shipping and never see it again. Listia can refund credits, but not money sent for shipping.

I am hoping that after the credit conversion to INK we can pay for shipping with INK. If that happens, maybe people CAN get refunds for shipping money sent to scammers. Wouldn't that be nice ??? !!!

Why don't you ask that on Telegram?

Today I am focussed on shaming Listia into committing to a price for ink. Yesterday they said on my chat that the price has increased for Listia members. It WAS 1 ink-=2,750 credits. NOW they are saying we will pay 3,850 credits for 1 ink.

But that could also change. Listia members COULD be left with pretty much nothing of value when their credits convert. I hope they will commit to a specific exchange rate for Listia credits!

Listia's credits will change to INK Feb. 28.
you get 1 ink for 3,850 credits.
Listia MAY give us a choice to convert our credits.
My advice is to CONVERT ALL your credits as fast as you can.
If you WAIT even ONE day, the price you pay to convert your credits to INK may go WAY UP

As with ANY cyrpto-currency the price WILL fluctuate both up and down.

I realize MOST Listia members are confused and frightened about this. I believe it will be CRAZY WONDERFUL for LIstia. It should make Listia a better marketplace for everyone here who has struggled with the terrible inflation and mass migration of scammers.

And one more question is will we be able to take the ink and transfer like the way we sell credits? Thanks a lot for the information!
Jan 31st, 2018 at 11:06:45 PM PST by

I answered your question in my previous reply ... yes, we should be able to "cash out" ink by selling it. Without any waiting or restrictions but I am beginning to think that might not be as easy as simply selling it on the exchanges, like other crypto. That is what we SHOULD be able to do, but the mechanics ... I just don't know.

I don't think Listia will address the details until after Feb 28 but I will ask about it, because to me what they say on the Medium page is vague.

Vague is ALWAYS Listia and Listia is ALWAYS vague. Kind of makes my blood boil, that they treat Listia that way, but overall I think the INK system will be much better for Listia.

Thank you so much for the answer to my questions! I’m so excited for this new thing to happen! And I’m not sure but wouldn’t it be a good idea to wait to convert the credits later on since the value of the ink should go up which would be a better move? Amazing auction btw
Feb 2nd, 2018 at 6:38:47 PM PST by

Sorry, I forgot to "reply" and posted a new comment instead ... but the answer is NO ... you don't want to wait until INK is more valuable. You want to buy when INK is at its lowest price. If you wait until the value of INK is higher, you will pay MORE credits for it ... capiche?

Listia has said they will HOLD the price of INK at 3,850 credits = 1 INK for the duration of the Listia credit conversion.

The "duration" is what I don't know. Anyone who doesn't convert their credits can spend them on LIstia, but all future transaction will be in INK. At some point, credits that haven't been converted or spent on Listia will probably exchange at whatever the current price of INK is ... which could be much higher.

See my posted comment ...

So I don't think you need to worry about converting your credits immediately. You will have time, how much is anyone's guess.

AND I don't know how quickly INK will actually be available on the exchanges (i.e. for anyone to buy or sell). INK will not change in price until it is available on the exchanges.

It's complicated, but my advice is to transfer all your credits to INK on FEb. 28. Or, by whatever deadline Listia sets for converting your credits at the cost of 14 cents per ink. Otherwise you WILL very likely pay MORE because the value of INK will go UP at the beginning, I think.

Well supposedly Listia swill hold the price of ink for while on Listia while credits convert.

But you have it mixed up. You want to buy ink with your credits when the price of ink is LOW. If the value of ink goes up you will pay for it. Capiche?

But low. Sell high. The price we are getting for our credits COULD be the lowest price EVeR.

Usually new currencies go up in value at the beginning. IF people are excited about it. A LOT of people are excited about ink. Outside of Listia.

A lot of investors who signed up were not able to buy it at the presale. It sold out in TEN seconds so many were left out. Many of them are here on Listia NOW accumulating credits. I think it could trade heavily but that’s just my guess.

Convert all your credits on feb 28. That is what I plan to do.

Yes, it's important for LIstia members to understand the potential benefits of INK.

This is an UNPRECEDENTED and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to earn a new, and potentially very successful, cyrpto-currency. We should all take advantage of it, IMO.

I know a LOT of LIstia members are frightened about this change and don't trust Listia's management for a variety of reasons ... GOOD reasons. Listia has NOT been transparent about this on LIstia. Listia and INK are the SAME company. They are a US-based company. The Listia "team" members live in the San Francisco Bay area (Silicon Valley) but the company is registered in Delaware (which is common, Delaware offers a lot of benefits for companies to incorporate there).

Listia's "team" has their HANDS FULL managing the presale and upcoming release of INK ... and have largely ignored the Listia community. Listia is the REASON they have been able to get so many people interested in INK.

Don't get me wrong, these are good people, in my opinion. I don't think Listia/INK management INTENDS to keep Listians in the dark. They OWN Listia but they don't use it like WE do. So they don't understand the day-to-day problems of buying/selling on Listia (such as scammers ... that's my next target, I hope to convince them to do SOMETHING about that)

It's important for ALL of us to keep asking questions and forcing Listia to be responsive and transparent. I can't do it alone. It has been VERY time consuming and I'm glad they have posted as much information as they have ...

WHY that information is SO hard to find on the internet, I have no idea. I think they should post it to replace the idiotic "new currency" link on every LIstia page ... don't get me started because my blood boils and then my EVIL TWIN takes over ... LOL.

I've read all of your post and for whatever reasons, I still don't understand this Ink thing. I have ALOT of credits, but am trying to sell them, but sadly they put a limit on how much you can sell. It average out that I can only sell 250,000 credits a month. I can't live on that. So, if I read right, we'll be able to sell ALL our credits for cash once Ink come through? I tried to sign up for Ink, but it's not letting me. Hence my confusion. Sigh....

You can’t sell very many. You can buy gift cards if you want to cash out that way. Just wait and convert them to ink. That’s my advice.

You can continue to use ink on Listia or cash it out with no restrictions. Ink will be a much better currency than credits so hand onto it and convert all if it after feb 28. You will then own a new crypto currency that has real $$$ value. And could go up in value. Unlike credits.

You will be glad you did!

I don't see how they will distinguish what's purchased and what's not. And how will they differentiate? If I've spend some of my credits (some purchases) and not others - how will they parse that? Do they consider purchased credits to be used first or last? FIFO method or FILO model? It MATTERS! And I don't know why (initiate sarcasm font now) I think this but I'm guessing that if you've bought credits, they will be the LAST to be used, meaning you have to go down to zero first if you've purchased any credits. (End sarcasm font.)

Anyway, not purchasing any anyway bc I hope to have a new batch of GC soon.

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite and most trusted person on Listia! Your one of the best my friend!

It's inane ... nonsensical ... crazy talk ... purely meant to obfuscate ...

Yes, once "purchased" credits are spent they aren't purchased any more, they are earned by the seller, who can convert them to INK.
