I can connect the Griffeys to the Black Sox scandal using the six degrees of Kevin Bacon:

Richard "Dickie" Kerr won two games for the White Sox during the 1919 World Series.

Kerr was Stan Musial's very first manager, in the Daytona Beach Islanders.

Musial and the Griffeys are from Donora, PA.

Musial won three World Series in the early to mid 1940s, Griffey won two with the Big Red Machine in the mid 1970s, Junior never made it to the World Series.
