If you ever purchased gift cards prior to the XNK transfer then you over paid as well. The credit/$1 ratio according to Listia is 27,500/$1 and gift cards were selling over 100k/$1. The only thing that’s different now is the fluctuating value outside of Listia. This could either be a great investment or XNK could nosedive and my tokens are worth nothing. :P

We can agree to disagree on that one. XNK is a new cryptocurrency like Bitcoin that can be exchanged outside of Listia. Developers have plans to integrate with Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes. :)

I see you’ve never purchased gift cards here before so let me be the first to tell you it has always been like this. GIN price for $100 gift card hovered around 10 million credits for years and at 27,500 per dollar that comes to $363.63. Check around and you’ll see my gin is set lower than just about everyone else.

Hey Kimmie. XNK is a decentralized currency (similar to bitcoin) that can be exchanged outside of Listia. While Listia may honor their rate of .14 per XNK, the actual rate has been hovering around .10 according to https://idex.market/eth/xnk

Crunch the numbers and you’ll see this isn’t overpriced at all. If 3850 credits equals one XNK, then this auction is 8,555,547 for a $100 Gift Card :)

Sorry I had to go wayyy down in your feedback to find one lol. Yeah that $30 card you paid 3,000,000 for was worth $109 according to Listia. Listia credits were a type of centralized crypto currency and they were really only worth what the community decided they were worth.

With decentralized currency XNK, you must also factor in the outside market value in the ETH marketplace and the last time I checked XNK was trading around 7 cents, not the 14 cents that Listia currently places the value at. Who knows when Listia will decide it’s too high and change the value?

There’s a lot of uncertainty right now and I’m just trying to provide what members are looking for. Most people are cashing out and leaving the site so here I am selling gift cards.

I understand the confusion and tbh Listia really dropped the ball by not providing tutorials for XNK on the front end.. but I’m not the bad guy here. Go find the guy selling a $25 card for 2,500 XNK. :P

The problem with the XNK is as a Seller (Not offering Digital items) its going to kill us in Shipping meaning - If and "when" XNK is offered on other sites- it will take SO much time...Now you have to consider sites being used for this currency like Offer Up or Let it Go and Craigslist....The majority of people selling items on there simply do not work on anything but cash. Given fact, Even Bitcoin is like less than 2% Sales on CL....I'm all for progress but this isn't a swell idea for Listia and the items being offered and I'm with Kimmie and many others, in regards to the gift cards....It will drop off. Simply from a visual aspect, Someone will see a $50 gift card & next to it states your paying $95 in USD....So even that alone will be enough for people to pass on. Look, I think its great we're trying New things but Listia ought to have stayed giving Each Seller/Buyer an option to use XNK or not. Have you read Facebooks Comments :( Sad...SO many confused. Ive had over 75 Emails on Listia from Diff. users asking me to explain it to them. This is not boding well Im afraid you can see it on an early stage .....Once the Credits stored Up have been gone it will be a totally different story on Sales and Purchases.

I agree that Listia dropped the ball when it came to explaining Ink Protocol. I didn’t even notice the icon on web browser until December and I’m sure many people who are mobile users only were even more shocked. I’ve read the Facebook comments and Listia has indicated they will roll out tutorials for people who don’t understand the new currency. I hate to see the credits system go but it’s essentially the same when you crunch the numbers. I enjoy doing business here so I’ll be Inking it up until Listia begins charging for membership. (not a suggestion lol) Hopefully they learn from their mistake and start rolling out those tutorials soon.

Listia vision i believe is the market to go higher that .14 cents so people can make a profit on items because why buy an xbox one for a seller if listia is offering one for half price does not make sense

Tbh it has always been this way. The only difference now is the uncertainty of xnk token. Listia recently removed the .14 value for the token and doubled all the prices in the rewards store. I’m trying to weather the storm until the currency stabilizes but it’s not looking good :(
