It's a shame that so many members feel that they were caught off guard. I made a point of reading everything that I could prior to the launch and therefore felt fairly comfortable when it occurred. I decided to wait awhile before I convert my banked credits anticipating that it would take a little time for everything to stabilize. That is just my cautious nature. I have never purchased credits and have never sold any of my credits. That is not why I joined in the first place.

Being on disability I joined to help augment the my income by purchasing items for family & friends to use as gifts for special occasions and the occasional little thing for myself which I could not afford otherwise. Plus, I loved the sense of community in the beginning. Up until Christmas 2015 that worked well. That year I only had to purchase a couple of gifts "out of pocket". It also allowed me to cloth my little one and get many of his toys. I have not purchased a gift card since that fall and now have to find most of his things elsewhere since inflation escalated by more than 400% in less than 2 years (spring 2015 to Dec. 2016) and far more so for items such as gift cards. Listia has lost many good, long-time members since 2016 while new members shutter when they see such unrealistic starting bids / GINs. Many sellers became greedy and since we were using "only credits" many members seemed to forget that the credits still had a real cash value so overspent much more easily. Now that everyone can see the real USD of items I am hoping that that era will come to an end. It amazes me how few people seem to comparison shop these days and will spend far more for items here than they can get elsewhere. I hope that will come to an end as well. The "old" system was sorely in need of a drastic change.

I know what you mean..I did christmas this last year with the help of listia..I got my teen grandchildren tablets..I crocheted afghans for my daughters with yarn I got on listia....I made Raggedy Ann & Andy for my great grandchildren......And they all got a huge stocking filled with goodies..But the best part about listia is the friends you make................I agree with you that we should educate ourselves on the workings of listia..And I still believe they should have done as you said & have some sort of a discussion among fellow listians

It is unfortunate that human nature is to fear what we don't know. Some folks just do not embrace change & progress and I think that is why many members reacted by leaving before giving INK a chance. I believe it has the potential of being wonderful for Listia and will level the playing field much more so for all members. There will always be gluttony however and some sellers will continue to charge unrealistic prices but I believe that their reign is over for the most part.

I believe that it is the responsibility of each individual to be more proactive in educating themselves, whether it be INK, comparing prices elsewhere, etc. and not rely so heavily on others to do the work for them. Listia good have done a better job of having an open discussion to discuss concerns amongst members & themselves once INK was implemented but otherwise I have been quite satisfied with the amount of written material that they provided prior to the launch. But, that's just my opinion.

True there is info out there, but some of us are just not savvy to technical talk...It takes awhile for the light to go on in our brain

Actually, at Listia's most recent suggestion of a 0.09 market value, 33.0 XNK =
$2.97 USD. If you calculate using the actual current market value of 0.05, 33 XNK = $1.65 USD. Either way it's quite a bit less than your calculation. When you factor in the free shipping, this could actually end up leaving you in the red. Good Luck to you.

That is he million dollar question! Personally, I price according to actual market value, whatever it may be which means keeping an eye on it. I use : https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ink-protocol/ which at the moment is 0.037516.

That's particularly important if you're planning to convert your credits or sell XNK. It is definitely going to take some getting accustomed to but I am hopeful that when all of the bugs are worked out and the market stabilizes that INK has the potential of improving Listia significantly. Good Luck to you.

I already converted my credits...A lot of people are leaving listia because of the "BUGS" I don't think we were prepared enough..I am only interested in selling & buying & not the the other stuff..All together it's very confusing...We as sellers & buyers can't do our job unless listia does theirs..So far I've lost 2 very, very good customers...Working TOGETHER we can do it...But we have to know what is going on

Measurements, plz? TYVM! (I find the XNK confusing but I'm getting a better feel for it. It just confuses me more with the fluctuations: It's not a Weeble Wobble on a cruise, dangit! X-P )

I've often wondered why they call it fat quarter

I'm guessing but 18" is 1/2 yard so maybe it's 1/4 of a yard? But that would mean it came from a bolt 42" wide; with the most common bolt widths being 45", 54" & 60", by my logic(?) it should be called Slim Quarter. lol
