Description
The listing, 1944s-mercury head silver dime w/artist initials aw has ended.
1944 silver dime- on the right hand side of her neck are the artists initials A & W. the initials are intertwined. The mint mark s is located on the back, right after the word one. Looks to be in a very good condition.
Apparently not. At first I thought i was looking at the mint mark & what i thought i saw was a W. but that didnt make sense. So i did a google search on it. And was informed that not only was that not the mint but also not a W, as well. I was told it was the artist or coin designers initials. It has an A & W intertwined together. And that not all of the artist or coin designers, choose to put there initials on the coins they design.
Oh I meant all Mercury Dimes have the artists initials. They are not like the 1909 VDB Penny where it was only done for one year. Nice coin regardless!
To be quite honest with you. I'm not too much coin acquainted. I only have a few special coins. A few ive bought and a couple that have been given to me. So thank you for your information. I really appreciate it.
