While this book was very serious in describing homosexuals as deviants and a societal problem, it would have been no fiction back in the day. By today's standard, it may be more aptly a book of fiction.
Whatever your feeling on the subject, this book is eye opening to see the contrast in the norms of today as opposed to then.
