Up for grabs is ONE Beautiful Victorian Era Queen Victoria Cameo Earring.A cameo is a material that is carved with a raised relief that often depicts a profile of a face or a mythical scene. Cameos are commonly made out of shell, coral, stone, lava, or glass. THIS ONE, i believe, is coral. The most popular and we'll know cameo's depict the faces of Queen Elizabeth Or Queen Victoria. Most people don't know this, but when an old piece is referred to as being "Victorian Era", that means that it was made durring the time if Queen Victoria's Rule. Queen Victoria Ruled Brittain from 1837 to 1876 when she died, which dates this item for us as being made at some time between those points. Side Note: Over the past 5 years, I have lost my great grandmother and all 3 great aunts, all of which to different forms of cancer. These 4 old ladies lived through the great depression, and back then, you couldn't afford to throw things away or get rid of ANYTHING, so as you can immagine, they became special breeds of hoarders the rest of their lives. lol. Needless to say, they left us with decades worth of stuff that we have to get rid of. Most things will be sold, but I have set aside a portion of it to be auctioned off on Listia.
