Description

The listing, 'o' Painting of Autism puzzle piece heart with the saying "I heart (love) someone with Autism." 'o' has ended.

Hello my Listian fans, I made this auction of this hand painted puzzle piece Autism heart by me specially for all those parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors & whoever know a special someone with Autism. I been wanting to do it since the month began since April is Autism Awareness month, but i kept forgetting and dont have much time. But here it is finally, i made it in one day. I slept very late since i was persistent to finish it, but it was worth it!!

1. Pic of the painting, 8x10
2. Pic of the back of the painting with some inspirational words. They are Love, Hope, Understanding & Patience. The main important things that we need to raise a child with Autism.
3 & 4. My son, which has Autism, holding the painting.
5. My other son, with no Autism, but was being supportive. He said the painting is Beautiful & that he likes it!!

I'm fairly new to all this Autism thing. My son was just diagnosed on January and started school a couple days after that. I just finished this week with getting him evaluated to get occupational and speech therapy outside of school. So hopefully he will start within a month. Im trying to become more educated on Autism and i would like to get a lot of people aware of how serious and common its becoming. Please pass the word, support research & get your children diagnosed as soon as you see some of the signs. DON'T WASTE TIME!!! The earlier they get diagnosed, the earlier they can get help.

If it does very well and i get requests, i will make more, the same or different. Also, since its very special and for a special cause, it will be a long auction, so please dont ask to lower days! Happy bidding, good luck and thank u to all!!

Thank you for watching and for your nice comment! I just want for more people to know about it now that my son was diagnosed. Is just alarming how rapidly the rate is increasing and i know how hard is to raise a child with Autism even though its only been for 3 almost 4 years. But i also get happy every time he accomplishes something small. I love him so much just the way he is, but i know he needs help since he still doesnt talk. Im sure you feel the same way. Thank u for being the first one to comment & watch. God bless u, your son & your family!!

I will be honest with you my son has his ups and downs but I love him to death. I wouldn't change him for the world. He didnt speak either nor walk. Years of therapy helped. Not sure if you know about this but if you go under you tube there is a video about the school system. Its called Teacher/Bully: How my son was humiliated or go under www.change.org/petitions/to-the-new-jersey-legislature-and-congress-pass-legislation-so-that-teachers-who-bully-children-are-immediately-fired There's a video and the story of a father who's son is Autistic and a petition to sign. His son was treated so horrific in the school system. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for the blessing. God Bless you and your kids.

I know that Autism is a spectrum disorder, so the severity ranges. Some are worse than others, so the ones that have a more mild autism can speak or can improve a lot faster with therapy. I'm guessing your son now talks & walks since you said he didn't? I can't imagine how much harder it was for you & him since he wasn't walking. I at least have to thank God that my son does walk, he started walking at 14 months. And I also get a sence of relieve that he's not that bad, that at least he never had a problem with walking, but I can't help but feel bad for the ones that have it worse than us. But like you said, I wouldn't trade him for anything. About the bullying in school, it worries me. I tend to worry more about if my son will be bullyied by other students. I never really thought about the teachers doing the bullying. I heard about a story of two autistic twin boys getting mistreated at school, so the parents had to take them out and keep them at home. It's sad how some people have to pick on the weak, those people have no heart. I can't imagine what I will do if something like that happened to my son. I will definitely check the video. Thank u for your blessing too!

Thank you so much! I been wanting to do an auction with the winner sending me a picture through an email or let me know what they will like and I will paint it for him/her then sent it, but I decided to do this one first before the month finished. But yes, I think that's the most important thing, to get help as soon as possible. It will be hard, but as soon as that first step is taken, it will be a relief. Also, no one should settle for the first diagnosis & when the first door closes, keep trying until the right help is found. :)

I added a couple of pictures from the internet with information about Autism with hope to inform everyone that watches my auction with some of the facts about Autism. Please be aware that the one that says, The Facts, were it says that 1 in 110 children are diagnosed with Autism in the US is outdated. Now is actually known that is 1 in 88 and that one is diagnosed every 20 minutes. So like i said in my description, please DON'T WASTE TIME if you see some of the signs with your child by the age of 12 to 18 months. The earlier you see something different and are suspicious, take action and get your child diagnosed so he/she can get the help that will help him/her improve. The earlier the better!! Thank you all, any good stories and advice are very welcome since im still learning with my son.

Oh, ok. Well i wish everyone good luck, but i hope u win too because it will be nice to go in your sons room. Right now it will be hanging in my sons room. I know i said that if the auction does well and i get requests for more, i will do more, but im going to do it anyways. I want to keep helping in making more people aware, and if i can do it by using my talent of painting, they im going to do it. So once im able to make another one, i will list it and u will have more chances if u dont win this one!!

Oh wow, well that's the thing, as they get older of course they're going to grow & be able to reach higher. I had to do that with the restroom door in their room because he would go in to turn on the hot water full blast & the last time he did it, he got completely soaked & there was water everywhere. But I know that he's eventually going to reach it, so I will have to do something else then. I'm short, but he's barely going to be 4 & he's already more than half my height, he's a little over 3 ft. Your little brother was still too young, my blessings go out to u & your mom.

Oh, I heard and read that it might be in the genes, that it runs in the family. That if you have a son that comes out with Autism, that most likely his siblings will have it too. Luckily my 2nd son doesn't have it, he's actually really smart & he started saying words at age 1. Well the good thing about your nephew & sister is that they have you & your mom to help & support them.

Yes it is, i love this site and i have come to meet some really nice people! Its great to get to know a lot more moms or family members with the same situation as me & even more when they're trying to offer me their support. Because of this site and the help of a lady that has her son in school with mine, i have more support and i dont feel that lonely anymore. She has given me so much help. We actually went today to this sessions that will be for six weeks on Thursdays were they give the parents of kids with special needs advice and information. Well thank you for your support, for watching & fanning, will fan u back! Good luck and i hope all is well with your son!!

Well you are helping her a lot just by being there and by letting her and you nephew know that u love them, trust me. Knowing that you have the support of your family and friends mean a lot. Also, you can help her a lot by helping her find information and the places where she can take him to get help, like therapy. Does her son have medicaid? If he does and she doesnt know, she can get help through the plan and they can give her pull ups and wipes. They will take them to her house every month. At least that help is given here on Texas through The Texas Childrens Health plan. I dont know how it is where you live, maybe u and her can try to find out. Well i will definitely keep in touch, you do the same. Keep me updated on how everything goes with your nephew & i will do the same. Thank u!!

Well yeah, try to find out because if shes able to, it will be a big help. My husband is the only one that works so hes the one that has to be paying for all that, so now that we are getting them for free from the medicaid is a big relief. Yeah, its nice to find someone that you can talk to and that will understand you.Its very hard to loose someone so close and special to you, so how can you forget about them.

Well at least for what you remember he had a great life and you were there to defend him even though he didnt mind or understood. The thing about my other son is that he's still too little & he's younger, so he really wouldnt understand. Im actually having a hard time with him because he misbehaves, specially with his brother. Since his brother doesnt speak & doesnt know how to defend himself, he peaks on him a lot. He's the one that's been more hard to raise since he's more of a trouble maker, he talks a lot & understands, he just chooses not to listen. He just doesnt make it any easier on me.

Thank u so much for your advice and everything, I appreciate it. It's just that sometimes I don't know what to do, but I hope that it's just a phase. I'm not that experienced being a mom, I still have a lot to learn. And since my older son has the Autism, he's always been so calm & quiet, always on his own, so now that my little one is so active, always talking & being a trouble maker, it's all new to me. They're so different, they sometimes frustrate me & make me mad, but I love them to death & I don't know what I will do with out them!

Oh sorry to tell you, but your message made me cry. It wasnt corny, it was beautiful! I know one thing about kids with Autism is that most of them dont show affection. My son didnt start to show affection until like a year ago. He wouldnt hug anybody, not even me and his dad. Eventually he started doing it, but mostly with me and his dad. My mom would try to hug him & he wouldnt let her, but now he lets her & i even taught him to give kisses. So now sometimes i just tell him to hug & give a kiss to grandma or to me & he goes and do it. I thank God and get so happy when he achieves any little thing, he just seems to be catching on easy & kind of fast. And he's starting occupational & speech therapy on Monday, so hopefully he starts learning even faster, yay! I love him so much & i dont know what i will do without him, well i love both of my boys to death, but he's very special. Well i will definitely contact u if i need someone to talk to. Thanks!!

Yeah, same here. I just to take a while at first, more than the 7 days to ship, but I never really had a complaint nor a negative feedback. Now I try my best to send the items within the 7 days because the feedback is very important. It represents who u are & it is important to have happy buyers because like that they might keep coming back to you. I have had some loyal ones that have gotten something from me more than once!

Oh my god, now that worries me. Because I we can only do so much, we can't be up all night taking care of them or keep sleeping with them until they adults, even if we wanted to. This got me thinking and worrying because my son loves the water, he goes in the restrooms a lot and lately he wakes up & gets up in the middle of the night. He only goes to the living room & watches tv & as soon as I hear him get up, I go get him, lay him on the bed & he falls back to sleep within an hour or 2. But I know that as he gets older he's going to get stronger & I don't know how he's behavior is going to change. Plus his teacher told me that most kids with Autism love water. I guess I just have to wait & see how he responds to therapy as he grows & try to take care of him as much as I can.

Oh, im so sorry to hear that :(. I wouldnt have thought of that, sorry i asked, i was just wondering. But i have heard of ceazures running hand in hand with Autism, just like ADD & ADHD. Thats one thing that scares me, for my son to start getting them. I think he's too little now and maybe they wont start until he's older, but then again, i guess there's no age for that. I have a niece that is going to be 9 in August and she already had two. She doesnt have Autism, she's really skinny & short for her age though, but the doctors have done so many different types of tests & they still dont know what caused them. I guess we shouldnt leave them unattended for too long no matter how old they are.
