can you tell me what country this one come from and if it is real crystal or glass ?

Hi. I purchased a small lot of these from a local gift shoppe, Primrose Galleries, up the street from my house in Boiling Springs, SC. The associate assured me that they were crystal, made from natural quartz crystal sand. I believe that would technically be considered crystal glass, due to the heat process used to melt the quartz crystals. The girl there told me that the high heat used removes any natural toxins and impurities, as well as "artifact", whatever that is. These are perfectly clear- at least I can not see any inclusions. Very pretty. :)

ok thanks , crystal when laying in front of a book does not magnify . glass is lighter than crystal . . thanks for answering . I believe crystal stay cool to when it is even in hot weather .. . this would be pretty to see the glow . If it came from China it is probably glass that is why I ask.

No problem at all. I did not know that.. so I tried laying it in front of book text and when it is close, yes it does magnify. AND it inverts it, lol. Interesting, and a good tool to know! I am unsure where the gift shoppe originally received it from, though. But they do sell a lot of natural gemstone and crystal decor pieces from the nearby gem mine (Chimney Rock Gemstone Mine). They also have gorgeous artisan-made sterling and natural gemstone jewelry pieces for sale in their sister shop The Crystal Store, next door, of exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
