The listing, 25 plus Giant Red Raspberry seed... has ended.
Hi,
What I have is a very delicious, juicy variety of Red Raspberry...The fruit is very large...great for pies, jams...etc. ...over ice-cream -hint, hint :)
"....Botanically, Red Raspberry cultivars derive from hybrids between R. idaeus and R. strigosus. Because of the crossing of this type of Red Raspberry, the canes are strong and may not need any staking...."
Because they are freshly harvested, these Red Raspberry seeds should be kept in refrigerator for a month before planting (a process called stratification) Cold, but not freezing, temperature prepare the seed for germination.
Sowing advice: "....Seeds can be sown at any time of the year into a sandy compost and covered thinly with sand or grit. No artificial heat is needed. The seed tray is best left in a cool spot and kept moist. Seeds generally germinate in the spring whenever they are sown but odd ones may come up at any time. Grow small plants on before planting out in rows about 3 feet apart...."
PLEASE NOTE: If anyone purchases 7 or more packets of my seed in any one calendar day, they are welcome to choose one more packet of seed completely FREE.
Happy Bidding!
P.S. If anyone would like a lower GIN, you are welcome to make an offer, as long as you are willing to provide Forever stamps to cover shipping. :)
