From the PSA website: "Roberto Francisco “Bobby” Avila Gonzalez (1924-2004) was one of the first Mexican-born players to enjoy consistent success in the Major Leagues. Bobby played second and third base for 11 seasons with the Cleveland Indians (1949-1958), the Baltimore Orioles (1959), the Boston Red Sox (1959) and the Milwaukee Braves (1959). In 1954, playing much of the season with a broken thumb, Avila won the American League batting title as he hit .341 and finished third in AL MVP voting. Bobby Avila was already a proven hitter by this point, having hit between .299 and .304 from 1950-1952 and leading the league in triples in 1952. Bobby helped lead the Indians to the 1954 World Series against the New York Giants, but was little playoff help as he batted .133 in 15 at-bats. He was a three-time All-Star and finished his career with a .281 career average with 1,296 hits including 185 doubles, scored 725 runs and drove in 467 RBI over 1,300 games."
