Thanks, and I'm trying to finish up some of my hobbies so I can devote more time to making jewelry. Hobbies are fun, but its hard to make money of them.
I sale in multiple places, but the sales are not keeping up with what I'm acquiring. And I hate to see beautiful items on Listia sell for almost nothing! I bought a baby boy crib blanket because it had beautiful and a lot of it was hand done. So now I need a baby boy in the family or give it too one of my daughters if they ever have a boy.
Got a lot more stuff in today, some old sheet music. I started buying sheet music for the past couple of years, and when I do buy I look for stuff during the 1920's and 30's and sometimes I get lucky enough and there will be a autograph one. But my love is still jewelry and gemstones, easy to carry no matter where I go.
Oooooh that's amazing. Im a sucker for anything vintage. The oldest I've had were some dresses from the 70s and 80s that belonged to my grandmother and some I've found at garage sales or thrift stores. I feel like alot of people underestimate thrift stores. They have so many amazing things. :D
I use to have a female friend that was very well to do, but she would shop the thrift stores and find the best deal on designer clothes. Which if you look at it, its pretty smart. Sheet music is not a real profitable venture, since most pieces sell for five dollars or less! But if you can buy it for a nickle or even a quarter you can make a little money. The one I have that has a autograph is Ruby Vallee early 1930's Its value is around 500 dollars. But again one must find the right buyer.
Yep that's very smart. That's great that you have collectibles you can sell for alot. Trust me, if were into vintage things, alot of people are into vintage things. There's always something for someone. ;)
I have been very lucky and the Lord has been with me in acquiring certain items! The most recent item will go to auction sometime in the near future and the starting bid will be 100K. I did not realized what I had until I started to do some research. The hunt for collectables is pretty exciting, and one might be surprised what they can find at garage sales and online auctions.
That's great! Im happy for you. Btw speaking of garage sales and online auctions, I've heard of estate sales but I've never been to one. What is that exactly? Is it like a silent auction, or just like a garage sale?
Very seldom do I ever find anything that I can turn a profit on from estate sales, but garage and yard sales you can find some pretty good stuff at times.
Ring is done and I think it turned out real nice, had to do a lot by hand. Set four diamonds and two blue sapphires. If you would like to see a photo let me know. And is there anything special in Jewelry that you like?
I'm genuinely impressed that you make jewelry. It sounds gorgeous. I definitely want to see it. And honestly my special ring would be a soild gold band in the shape of a star and the star would be filled with garnet stones. :)
