The self-adhesive Eagle and Shield stamp went on sale September 25, 1992, in Dayton, Ohio. The stamp was designed by Jay Haiden and printed in offset/intaglio process. The Banknote Corporation of America printed brown and multicolored stamps, and Dittler Brothers, Inc., produced the green and multicolored stamps. Stamp Venturers, Inc., printed the green stamp in the photogravure process.
