Higher starting bids mean fewer watchers, fewer bidders, and more unhappy customers that are leaving the platform. THANKS A LOT LISTIA! Please change it back to the old way and give everyone a fair chance by letting the marketplace decide the value, like a real auction!

Am I the only one that finds this starting bid to be right on the money? Given the fluctuating price of xnk this is anywhere between $170-280 USD. Not a bad deal for a $300+ plus bundle. I know it's not an auction anymore with a zero starting bid but this should cut down on the number or people bidding that have no xnk to pay with in the first place. And let's face it, this bundle wouldn't go any lower than this anyway even if it did start at zero and bid out. So I guess I'm missing what the fuss is all about.

The fuss is about the underlying reason that all of a sudden without any communication Listia again makes these decisions without informing its user base. The fuss is about up until recently Listia allowed the market to decide the price, not set some artificially HIGHER THAN PREVIOUS SELLING PRICES bid amounts for just about all of these items. Notice gift cards haven't changed?!! And, this probably won't change people with no XNK bidding on these items because whether the price started at .01 XNK and ended at 9,000 XNK, or starts at 16,000 XNK and gets just a few bidders, those folks with no XNK are still allowed to bid whether they have the XNK or not. The problem is allowing people with not enough XNK to bid on things that they can't afford in the first place. The fact of the matter is more and more long time sellers are leaving the platform so there are less quality items to bid on, and thus also less buyers with high XNK wallets to bid on these reward store items. So, Listia is just raising all of the start prices in an attempt to keep this dying site alive until maybe XNK takes off. So far it is a failure in my book, as the price today is around .0169. And, since the price of XNK fluctuates daily, why not just let the price of these items fluctuate as well by letting the market (bidders) decide the value base on the prevailing XNK value at the time? Again, more arbitrary bad decisions by Listia that continues to drive sellers, and thus buyers away from the platform. I'm already beginning to cut down on my listings, going from about 175 down to 100 by the end of next month. Many sellers aren't even doing it gradually; they're just leaving altogether!!
