This is a rather UNIQUE piece from England. It is a man/ladies SHOE SPOON stick. It has a craved chicken head as you can see on top. Not sure what it is really made of. Looks like carved ivory; but I don't think it is. Have had for years. measurements are from head of chicken to spoon stick botton about 1 foot.Shipping is FREE in the USA. What IS this thing? Aside from the "craved" (craven?crazed? carved?) chicken - what is it used for?

The glare from camera flash really washed out any detail - so I can't really see it either.

I couldn't get a better picture. It just didn't take good. This is a piece I have had for such a long time. It is from England. It is a shoe spoon. You put your shoes on with it. You know . Stick it in the back of your shoes and it helpd you slide them on. Not the top part just the bottom part.,

this is a freaky looking hicky ma jig! I dont usually crave the chicken heads (ha chicken heads yo! lol) I usually crave the chicken breasts! Ecspecially the colonels! oh how I hate trying to lose 20 lbs by april! ugh!

This is a shoe spoon ansd the top part you see is the carved ivory chicken decoration on top of the shoe spoon stick. It helps you put your shoes on.

I've not heard the term 'shoe spoon' before. From your description though, we call that a 'shoe horn' (although that doesn't really sound logical, now that I think about it...)
