Description
The listing, iPod Touch 8GB has ended.
This is a tiered rewards auction! That means the item will change based on the current bid amount. The higher it goes, the better it gets. But, you'll only know what it is once it hits the next level! Check out the details on the side for the different levels and how many credits it takes to reach each tier. Will ship the item free in the US.
Questions & Comments
let us know what you all think about this type of auction! if it's fun we'll do more.
It's alright, but so far, I would immediately relist both items that have been posted. I would be more likely to take a high-stakes gamble if I could pick an item from 2 options on each tier or something. I figure I've wanted about half of your rewards options so far. :)
ya we did it this way so that you guys know what the tiers are so you'll never get screwed. you always know what the current item is and what it costs for the item to change. if you don't want the item to change you would never bid up into the next tier.
Another cool thought: what if each tier had a choice of 2-3 items, and only the first bidder who crosses into a new tier threshold gets to pick which item it will be?
This gives an incentive to be that bidder who explores the next tier.
I'm sensing a theme here. iTunes giftcard, iPod, different iPod... I have a shuffle, iPod, & iPhone already, so I'll bid again when it's not yet another music device.
Well, I'm still drooling over that HDTV and damning my slow connection on my iPhone that let me get outbid. Um, just off the top of my head: netbook, camera (Canons are awesome), thinkgeek, gas, Amazon, GGP Shopping Mall, or Target giftcards (something other than iTunes), GPS, clock/radio/ipod dock type thing, an awesome speaker set, new releases (Windows 7, Apple tablet, Xbox 360 Project Natal, new video games, highly anticipated products), Roomba, gaming headphones/mouse, Rock Band or Guitar Hero band set, Bluetooth hands-free headset, a projector, domestic flight (Jetblue?), "pick any xbox 360 game" and other auctions that involve choice.
we currently don't have too much information right now which is why we're trying to list stuff almost anyone would want. thanks for those suggestions! I've saved them for the future. =)
Definately with goatwoodward on this one... he's got some great ideas there! I don't like the idea of gift cards though but that's just me. =) GPS would be awesome though, as would a projector.
I'm a she, which is why I want Target giftcards, for some new clothes. :) I guess giftcards do kind of defeat the point, I mean it's almost like cashing in your points. Then again, you can guarantee you'll get something you want.
how about some Listia Rewards products for cars such as 5k HID Headlight kit, neon light bars, paddle shifts/steering wheels, decals, air freshners, subwoofer/speakers for cars, rims, spoilers
Do you think it will ever be possible for users to do tiered auctions? Most people will do free shipping after a certain number of credits, and other people would probably just have fun with prizes.
haha you could probably imagine the problems we'd have if we allowed users to post tiered auctions. imagine tier 1 = shuffle, tier 2 = nano, tier 3 = old shoe. we'll probably have to restrict this just for us for the time being. =)
Well, making the additional options transparent would defeat the purpose. But you could allow one type of auction where the winner gets everything, mystery box style. And another type of auction where the winner gets a choice of any listed tier. Either way you do it, you are pretty much bidding on the current tier and hoping the next tier is an upgrade.
