I’m not a redneck, but, I was married to two from the Appalachian mountains of WV, the other from Evansville, IN (their coffee table book touts that they’re home of the first KKK meeting), border of Kentucky & Indiana.
My favorite music is country, oddly, both husbands despised country music. I guess those marriages were doomed from the beginning. Lol

Yes...I wish I would have listened more as a young child... I didn't comprehend the terrible horrors of it then... just makes me so sad now...

If you locate the nearest reservation, call and see if you are able to reserve time with an elder. Time with Elders are sacred and amazing and unforgettable, worth recording.

I'm considered a redneck I suppose because I live in the South... I was born and raised in Louisiana.. so that being said... I am a people person... I don't deal with racist ... I'm part Choctaw... I have my own cross to bear.. my Great Grandmother was taken from her family as an infant and taken to a school to be civilized... Nothing but Jenny on her birth certificate... I believe in live and let live...

That (the period surround the Trail of Tears) was the most deadly period in American history. Over 100 million Native Americans were massacred. I can’t say they just died, because they were intentionally killed. They were either starved because all bison were killed, shot to ensure this outcome. Their crops were burned, the invasion of the outsiders brought disease, the trail walk in horrid weather and malnourishment, and if those things were not enough, the resisters were simply shot.
