This pepper is a versatile chili pepper named for Anaheim, CA. Mild flavor & heat, measuring 500-2,500 Scoville Units. Mild, medium-sized chili peppers grow to 6-10" in length. Often used for cooking when green, though can be used when red. Basic variety ripens to a dark green/reddish color, but other strains ripen to red. One of most common chili peppers in US & used in many foods & recipes. Red varieties can be strung together & dried to make ristras. Comparing the Anaheim to common jalapeno pepper, which ranges from 2500-8000 SHU, Anaheim is milder, but can have a bit of a kick.
