The listing, 1935 Babe Ruth Autograph Signed Note has ended.
Signed by Babe Ruth. Authentic dollar note from 1935 These usually go for thousands of dollars. I’ll take the XNK. Autograph isn’t facsimile (meaning it’s not printed on). Not sure of anything else about this item, other than I acquired it off a sports collector back in 2015.
this can be easily certified, the ink is correct and faded perfectly to the age of the dollar bill, and the signature is correct, as an autograph collector I wouldn't have an issue with it at all!
Great auction! According to the history major the US was definitely NOT printing Hawaii or North Africa 1935 series notes during WWII (well after 1935)... They were, as those notes DO exist... Shows that they know the history of the people, but not the history of US monetary policy, good to see the cost of college pay of : )
Here is clarification on why this is a REAL silver certificate (though actual collectors already know it is a real note):
On U.S. currency, the series refers to the year appearing on the front of a bill, indicating when the bill's design was adopted. The printed series year does not indicate the year a bill was printed; instead it indicates the earliest year that bills of the same design were first made. For example, Series of 1882 gold certificates were being printed as late as 1927.
Do you have some kind of authentication for the signature I am very interested as I am a huge baseball collector and before I spend that amount of credits I would like to know if there is any authentication papers
I'm not going to argue. just don't want anyone coming back at you, if its a fake. as a person that was a history major and minor in college. I actually know well about the many people that have held such roles in government. Atleast this isn't E@ay because than you'd get a lot more red flags.
I googled this type of bill and MANY versions of it with Georgia Clark come up on eBay, and on collector websites. All from 1935. You, my friend, Are wrong!!! Just goes to show you that a college education isn’t everything!
A silver note is signed by the Treasurer and the Secretary of the treasury both the names on the note are people that would have been later than when the note claims
Why is it then that when I google 1935 silver certificate images come up with many different names under treasurer? I’m telling you, she may not have been treasurer then, but she was in the office.
And still if I googled it. It will tell you that the people listed on it where from 1949-53 well after babe ruth died. don't want you to lose money but the person in 2015 sold you a fake.
I hate to tell you, this is not real. and the person that sold it to you in 2015 i'd get your money back from. Georgia Neese Clark was Treasurer in 1949-53 not 1935 that would have been William A. Julian. And the other name would have been William hoodin if it was from 1935. and babe ruth died in 1948.
