The woman on the heads side of the coin is Queen Victoria. Her grandchildren were the rulers in Europe during WWI.

Hello, I knew that it was Queen Victoria, just not to much about the coin itself. I am a WWI and WWII buff. I do however know that they do not call them pennies in Canada. Because penny was for the now discontinued 2-cent piece. I believe they were called "one- cent piece." But as stated, not to much in the know about foreign coins. Even though the Canadians are our neighbor. I guess I should learn though, as I just bought a 10 pound bag full at an estate sale!
