This Stuff is Free Too:

The listing, *RARE* Strap of 100 Consecutive Star Notes - Super Collectible has ended.

Up for bids: A super-rare strap of Star Notes! This is 100 consecutive $1 bills:

L07694101* to L07694200*

Comes in Lucite Holder. Holder alone cost $25. They still have the BEP Western Currency Facility (Forth Worth) blue candy-stripe wrapper!

The bills are crisp and uncirculated although the top bill does show a minor mark from counting. See picture. This is from normal wear and transport.

I've been collecting currency for years and have NEVER ran across an full intact strap of star notes until last week... I know they exist because I see them on eBay, etc... But to find one is a blast!

Now it can be yours!

To be clear, you're getting $100 in cash money that happens to be VERY VERY collectible...

I'll probably never offer something like this again...

Shipping is FREE in the USA!

*Tip/Trick* I have a lot of listings. If you just want to see my Coin and Currency listings (Numismatic related) search for this keyword: "OldDogEyes_Numis" (quotes are not necessary but won't hurt either)

It is what it is...

This is $100 face value if you spent'em... So that's 100k right there. And if you don't think that these are worth at least double face value given that I'm including a $25 holder and shipping is free, then this isn't the auction for you.

To put it another way, for less than 199k, I'll just keep'em in my collection...

And no, I'm not upset or mad about your comment... just giving my side of it. Good luck if you decide to bid!

To close, most things listed on Listia will go down in value over time. This is one thing that will go UP in value. Go onto eBay and search for a strap of star notes... when I looked the other day there were exactly ZERO being sold. So maybe I should just kill this auction and list it there... Betcha I'll get more than $200 for it...

I know I'm going to sound ignorant, but what exactly are these and why are they special? Thanks

That is a very good question... when dollar bills are printed they normally have a letter at.the end of the serial number which is called the 'block letter' ... about 1/2 of 1% of bills printed have a star instead of a letter... these are called 'star notes' and are printed as error replacement notes. You can usually find them one or two at a.time... but to find a whole strap (100 consecutive) is rare... and very collectible...

Ahh, well that explains a lot. Thank you. :)

Star notes are a very easy way to start a currency collection. Most are worth more than face value. Just go to your local bank and get $500 or $1000 in $1 bills, sort through them and set the star notes aside and any bill over than 1999 and take the rest back... repeat. PM me and I can tell you some more things to hunt for that are worth more than face value...

Listia credits vs. money = how badly you WANT it! ;) credits fluctuate and there really isn't a price to put on a credit it's the demand for the item that makes it all worth it! Great auction btw this is really cool and rare and that's what makes it worth it ; )

He's right, star notes are very hard to find! Whenever I go to the bank I ask for a strap of $100. I find 1 in about 500 and maybe 1 in ten star notes are in good shape. So to get 100 crisp star notes for 199,999 credits is a pretty good deal in my opinion. These kind of collections don't come around very often!

Wow! Wish I had the credits!
