On a chilly November afternoon in 1998, a tearful 36-year-old man walked into the Humboldt County Sheriff's Department in Eureka, CA, and confessed to something horrible. "I hurt some people," he said.
Inside his pocket was the ghastly proof of his statement as he took Tamez's SEVERED BREAST.

Over the following days, Ford told the cops in detail about the four women, one hitchhiker, and two prostitutes, who he had butchered. Ford had been working as a long-haul truck driver, which allowed him to randomly select his victims and avoid capture. He sexually assaulted the women and murdered them by strangulation. He would then mutilate their bodies.

Ford claimed to be remorseful about the crimes, which he had committed out of hate for his ex-wife and not because of a desire to hurt the victims

Ford initially targeted prostitutes, but later began murdering hitchhikers. He would rape and then stab or strangle them to death, mutilate and dismember their bodies (particularly by cutting off their breasts), scattering the pieces in the wilderness.

Ford claimed that he was so drunk during the murders that he wouldn't be surprised if he had engaged in necrophilia with them, but could not say if he had really done it. Some of his victims' body parts were found in his freezer and showed signs that he had tried to cook them,
