Up for auction is a Japanese Geisha doll, sold in Japan, and I was surprised to see it was made in Taiwan!

This was purchased by my husband for our daughter, when his ship anchored in Japan, on their way home from Vietnam in 1969. My daughter never removed it from the box, as it wasn't an item she felt she could play with. I removed it from the plastic wrap and box to photograph it.

When she got married, she didn't take it with her, and we are downsizing and offering it to someone who might appreciate it. The sewing is fine! I tried to get a picture of the girl's fingers which are sewn!

The beautiful face is also fabric of some kind; there is no porcelain, and the feathers are in terrific shape for 52 years old! The base is a lacquered wood.
