Does the video playback have any static sound? Does it have to use batteries or could I buy a charger?

No static sound on playback. Has to use alkaline batteries. To save on batteries, you can put the memory card in a card reader and watch it on a laptop or a smart TV

Yes uses SD cards. But use a 1 to 4 GB card. The large capacity cards will not work. The smaller cards can hold plenty of video and photos. Then you can upload to a computer and erase and reuse the card if you want.
