Description

The listing, Opuntia Humifusa / Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus cuttings!!! has ended.

Opuntia Humifusa, Easter Prickly Pear Cactus, Winter Hardy!!! Napoles!!!. Is a beautiful winter hardy cacti that will grow in cold climates with heavy snow. They are also delicious and popular in Mexican food. Very versatile in everything from soup and tacos to paddle steaks straight off the grill. They also make great turtle and reptile food, they love them and are not bothered by the glochids. YOU WILL RECEIVE 2 FRESH CUT PADS, WILD HARVESTED IN OKLAHOMA!!! ALWAYS USE TONGS WHEN HANDLING PADS!!!
These beauties are perking up after winter dormancy and right now is perfect time for planting. It may take between 3 to 5 days for processing shipment as I live in town and have to drive to my parents farm in the country to harvest these.

How to Plant Opuntia Cactus

Pick a location with 6+ hours of full sun each day and gritty, well-draining soil

Dig a hole about 2"-3" wide and deep to fit bottom third of the pad

Use tongs to lean the pad in the hole (you do not need to refill the hole right away as the roots sprout best surrounded by air)

Wait 3-5 days to water; only re-water when soil is completely dry and do not water at all in winter

Thanks :)
Honestly they're stock photos because I wasn't out in the woods and didn't have any photos at the time. They are just perking back after winter dormancy so photos wouldn't do the justice of seeing them thrive in a home garden.
I don't think they like the red clay around here because you don't see too much fruit on the wild ones. Some perlite and Cacti soil and they take right off.
