These needle books were never sent to soldiers. They were marketed to the home users, and never during the war, but after they were usually produced by our former enemies.
This one has a cover picture of the U.S. warship "Iowa" and is noted as Made in Germany. It contains a few small packages of Royal silver eye'd sharps in 4 remaining packets of No. 1/5 and sizes 1, 2 & 3, but only 1needle per packet. The outer packaging is slightly aged and worn.
