The listing, Celeron D 331 + MS-7173P Motherboard has ended.

Old parts i had laying around that i don't need. The cpu was used in my HTPC but was replaced with a Pentium D 915 which was replaced with a Core 2 Duo E6550 and i know works but the board i have no clue and can't test as i don't have any DDR2 RAM so its as is. If you have any questions please ask and i will answer them quickly as possibe

You don't need ram to fire up the board to see if it works.. It does have some on board ram. You will get a error but you will be able to boot to bios.. Watching

newer boards no they don't require RAM to boot but older boards do and this board is pretty old. I have tried booting without RAM and got no post.

Odd, I have one here no ram in it and Celron D 336 in it, it fired up to low ram error and allowed me to enter bios..

My Pentium 4 2.8GHz 478 PC does the same thing no post with no RAM. Fans just spin but no post. Not doing anything wrong not a noob to pc's. Been repairing them for 5+ years :D

Most PC will post with no or RAM but with an error of sum sort and no post with beeps from the speaker but some do not

I only run AMD now Intel just makes me crazy lol.. In a few weeks upgrading to the Sabertooth with a 8core and 32 gigs of ram if I don't buy a laptop

I think he is right mokeyd, i have an older board and it will not post without some ram in the slots as well. this board is old but it would run server well. may bid on it:P

thx for the input also yea the board is old but it still supports a nice CPU which can even game or be used for daily use.

Also an Update. I just got some DDR2 RAM so when it gets here i'll test the board and report back if it works or not.
