Bette Davis was nominated for Best Actress for What Ever Happened to Baby Jane but lost to Anne Bancroft who won Best Actress for The Miracle Worker. Joan Crawford was horrible for accepting the award for Anne Bancroft. She apparently hated Bette. Joan Crawford was suppose to be in Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte (another one of my favorites) along side Bette Davis, she filmed a lot of scenes but later apparently faked an illness to get out of doing the film and working with Bette. There are a lot of pictures on the web of Joan's scenes. It would have been great with her, I wish they would release the cut scenes. Sorry for rambling haha. I love the classics.

i love the classics too i knew Bette didnt win the oscar for BJ but she should have. I only wish that my cable service offered more than one classic movie channel (Turner Classic Movies) I dont think tv programmers really get the viewing public. There are great old movies that never play on there or once in a blue moon and alot of the dvds are super high! Do you like "I Remember Mama" Johnny Belinda" or "Our Vines have Tender Grapes"? Just some of my faves. Ramble on all you want i have a vast knowledge of old movie trivia and a great love for old movies, its nice that others do too.
