Grows pretty fast, and it should grow in Texas it is a sun love, hold on I will check the zones, - I couldn't find the zones, they are in my book at home, I will look and post it, but I did find a website gardening website that was giving info on growing it in Texas

Love Carolina Jasmine. Such a wonderful smell and gorgeous climber!! I live in the DFW area of TX and have grown Carolina Jasmine at other houses I've owned. I would look towards partial shade though due to the intensity of the sun here. Hope that helps!!! F&W
