this old-fashioned jam is just delightful- a little bit sweet & a little bit tart. if you have never had beach plum jelly you are in for a treat. it's taste always brings back wonderful memories for me of salty air and spending time on cape cod with my grandma. the recipe is easy as pie, it's finding those wonderful beach plums that's the challenge...but that's part of the fun of making it!!

I just gathered some cherry plum, which are probably related to these beach plum! I live near the ocean, too but the low trees are both green and purple leaf varieties. :)

Folks here call them 'beach' plums. I figured out that they're actually cherry plums. When I first saw them, I thought they were cherries!
