Description

The listing, NEW - Bananagrams game has ended.

BRAND NEW unopened Bananagrams game! This is by far one of my favorite games right now (because I hate Scrabble with a burning passion!) and decided I would share one with Listia.

Here's what Amazon says about it:

"Ages 7 & up. In this unique word game, players use tiles to create words crossword-style. The first player to use all their tiles is the winner. With multiple ways to play, this game is perfect for beginning spellers, as well as more advanced players. No pencil, paper, or board required."

This game is super fun and very portable. Meeting someone in a coffee shop? You can bring Bananagrams! You get to create your own individual word puzzle. This game is fun to play with people and even as a "solitaire" game just in case you want to freshen up.

Free shipping in the US only! I ship via USPS and will add confirmation on higher credit items. Once I send items, they are no longer my responsibility (especially if they have a confirmation number).

No, I will not lower auction days. =P Sorry! I will send this out as soon as it ends, but with holiday mail, I'm not going to promise it'll get to you before Christmas. I'm assuming it will, but you never know!

My 11 year old grandson has spelling problems in school. I'll bet this would be a FUN wa for him to learn.

I bet! This is definitely a fun way to practice spelling! I also play "themed" Bananagrams, which seems like it'd be a good way to get someone thinking. For example, on Halloween, the rule was you have to ONLY use words commonly associated with the holiday (like "ghost" or "skeleton"). And you can just as easily choose something age appropriate for everyone.

It seems like fun. Is it different from Scrabble because there is no board? Do you keep points?
Dec 6th, 2010 at 5:23:29 AM PST by
Original
Correct. There is no board, so some table space is needed if you're playing with a bunch of people. You can basically choose whether or not you want to keep points, but the "rules" are that whoever uses their tiles first, the other people get to look over their board and if they find something misspelled, that person loses. If everything looks okay, they win. They also have alternate ways of playing listed.

This sounds similar to spill and spell. You can probably play by yourself just to see the different word combinations.I will watch, but it looks like someone REALLY wants this.

Yeah, you can definitely play this by yourself. They even have a "solitaire" game mode listed on the little instructions it comes with.
