Thank you so much for your encouraging words. You are right though about it being hard times. For me I have been working since I was 12 and now I'm 51 and have never been unemployed nor have I ever drawn unemployment so it's a bit scary for me. So all I can do is keep on looking and hope something comes my way soon. Its been 8 long months. But it has allowed me to spend a lot more time with my grandkids and they are my world so that's a blessing! You have some really great ideas! Keep me informed how that goes I would love to hear about it.

Sure thing! Talking to others makes every day easier. I was employed to as a nurse
I gave it up to be a stay at home mom with heavy encouragement from the hubby. He didn't like me to stay late at work, which happened a lot. He installs flooring but the winters have always been a challenge. Seems this year has been the worst I can remember in the last 8 years with him. Anywho, I'll let you know how it goes. It'll be fine!

Honey, thank you, it means a lot. I know what you mean. Times are tough right now, but we gotta keep trucking. I grew up poor and hope to die poor (no one fights over your estate---they do what is respectful and remember you for who you were). I want the winner to have both bracelets because I don't use them. If someone gives them as a gift to a loved one, every time they look at it, they remember the person that gave it to them.
Personally, I'm using Listia to fill in the gaps to clothes my children in this really cold winter. We moved to this area to find more employment opportunities. HAAAA! Not happening! This town I live in hassle 65% poverty level (according to the school district). So, I'm looking at different avenues---LISTIA, refurbished and constructing furniture (low cost furniture will appeal to low incomes and to collectors looking for something different online) and maybe AdSense. I have to make it work. Don't worry, girl! Something will come to you. Until then, its nice knowing you can get things for loved ones and necessities that you need without going broke!

You seem to me, to such a sweetheart. I happened across Listia accidentally a few months ago and was completely shocked (in a good way) to think that someone made a website where you can get rid if things you no longer need and get things you desperately need FOR FREE! I am a young stay at home mother with a young daughter. My husband works as a mechanic big gets laid off this time every year due to lack of work. They only income I myself receive is a pittance of a child support. My father also lives with us and is disabled so I care for him. Needless to say, I fall under the "low income standard" and every year I sign my daughter up for donated Christmas gifts. Listia has made it possible for me to get more than I thought I ever could for her this year and for this I am incredibly thankful!!! And thankyou for posting such a wonderful auction!!!

"Sweetheart"....my husband might disagree with you! LOL!
Thank you for sharing your story. Women can learn from each other and about themselves when they just let it out. I have been on both sides of the coin---having little material wealth and having an abundance. Right now, I'm not on assistance, but have been. I see all these people living in this town, living in REAL poverty situations, and thank the Lord for what I do have. (side note:My daughter said that kids at school badger her during lunch for the food she hasn't eaten. ???? Then it occurred to me what was obvious and from what I learned when researching the school district. Going to school is a treat for them because it's the only time they get to eat! Wow! The school even offers a summer lunch program for the needy kids, which is great.) My point is that when you have everything, you can miss out on the small things. Ten years ago, I missed out on watching my little girl grow as a baby. I constantly worked. When I left nursing and my EX behind, I also left almost of my belongings (bad relationship). Now, my current one and only does good and sometimes it's rough, but I'm FINALLY doing things that make me happy, work on finishing my accounting degree, and get to spend time with my little people. The only part I really miss is being around people. I talk a lot...A LOT! Listia has been a light at the end of the tunnel for me in more than one way. I'm glad I get to really share with others and hear from them!
Well, I'll let you go on about your business. Good luck on all of your bidding! ;)
