The listing, Toshiba Satellite laptop with XP has ended.

Up for bidding is a Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop running Windows XP Home Edition with built-in WiFi. The XP has Service Pack 3 update (SP3). Pretty fast to boot up (45 seconds from complete shut down state to seeing Windows desktop) and complete shut down (30 seconds). The power cable is included with the laptop.

I have taken a few pictures from the front, back, and both sides of the laptop. It has four USB ports, one modem, one ethernet port, and one PCMCIA slot. Standard mouse port and monitor output. You can see that this laptop extending its screen to a monitor in one of the pictures. This laptop came with 512MB RAM. Not a lot in today's standards, but it is not running on Windows 7 or 8 that requires tons of memory. The hard disk is 80GB. I have cleaned up all my data and applications and there is still more than 65GB left.

The only problem of this laptop is that a few keys do not work well. Two letters may show up when you press a key. I use an external keyboard as shown in the pictures.

can you please give me the number off the charger pack? my charger is from France with an adapter and it the charger was damaged in the may 20th tornado.I can't seem to find a charger so maybe if I can get the # off it i can find one easier. Ty

Your right about the hacking thing I think that to. I also run XP on my office PC and I love it lol. I had just been reading that and it was a concern to me. Thanks for all the information I really appreciate it. I am fanned and watching this auction very closely!

Fanned, very thankful for how you answer everyone questions and your amount of knowledge provided in the responses. I have a degree in programming but never used it as shortly after graduation I started a computer repair business and over the 10 years of doing that computers advanced beyond my scope of keeping up. I have a newer system with windows 7 but the other 3 systems in use in my home are running windows xp and except for one system I upgraded from 98 the others run faster then my W7.

Antivirus software gives you an extra protection, but they slow down the machine too. I don't constantly turn it on, but only let it run about once a week. Do not trust unknown web sites and open unknown files/emails that a random person sends to you. Chrome and Firefox browsers also block popups and warn you about questionable web sites, which should greatly reduce your risk.

Most air cards use USB and this laptop has four. Some air cards use PCMCIA for older laptops and this laptop has one too!

very nice would be a nice 1st lap top for the grand baby f&w i have a toshiba satellite too but mine looks a bit diffrent mine is all silver on the keyboard they are very good laptops oh and how do you get the stickers everyone needs them

This auction includes the laptop and its power cord. It is around 7 years old but I didn't use it much so it looks new. I mainly use it for travel and work demonstration between 2006 and 2007. I will throw in a few Listia stickers too.
