Description

The listing, Heirloom ✽ WISCONSIN 55 ✽ All-Purpose Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

This wonderful variety is a great all purpose tomato. Originally bred by J.C. Walker of the University of Wisconsin in the 1940's. This tomato has become special to me since I became a Master Gardener through the University of Wisconsin. It should be a special addition for you as well. The 4-8 oz, red, round fruit, highly productive, uniform size, strong skin and wonderful flavor makes this ideal for cooking, canning, salads and shipping. I added it to my salsa for wonderful color and flavor.

Days: 78
Size: indeterminate
Season: mid-season
Color: red
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: canning, salsa, slicing, salads, fresh eating

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.

These all get about 4-8 oz each, a nice uniform size good for canning, shipping, or farm stands.
