You buy Tracfone cards in the store, they're the green ones. a $20 card gives 60 minutes, but I think this phone has double minutes, so that would give you 120 minutes instead. However, it's much cheapter to enroll in the $10 per month plan which gives 50 minutes, as opposed to spending double the money for 10 more minutes. On my triple minutes phone I spend $10 for 150 minutes then cancel the plan until I need more minutes.

It does. It's triple and double minutes for the life of the physical phone, not the user account.
